"YPP CONSTITUTION"
NAME:
a) The name of this association is Your Political Party of BC, referred to in the Constitution and Bylaw as the Party.
b) The Party shall also be identified by the abbreviation: YPP and or Your Party and or YPP-of-BC
2: The Constitution of YPP shall be amended only by a majority vote of 60% of its members in good standing, where in 30% of the members in good standing must participate in person and the remainder may vote by absentee ballot in order for the vote to be valid.
FOUNDATION:

To recognize that religion is an individual and personal matter and not a matter to be either directed by or controlled by the Legislature.

To recognize the contributions of families and individuals to the foundation of society as we know it.
-
To recognize that all British Columbians are equal under and before the law and are to be treated with equal respect according to the law.
PURPOSE:
-
To ensure that tax dollars are spent in the most effective ways possible.

To reduce Government wherever feasible and to ensure that budget loopholes are secured, as well as to eliminate overlapping Government Departments.

To practice and promote increased democracy, both within the Party structure and the Province of British Columbia at all times.

To ensure special interest groups are not given special privileges.

To ensure that the justice system restores the balance wherein the punishment fits the crime.

To re-institute Citizen Rights as the priority over Criminal Rights within the present judicial system.

To lower the age limit wherein a youth commits a serious crime they are automatically moved to an adult level of justice; ie. Murder, Assault with intent…

To endorse the understanding that all British Columbians must have the freedom of speech, assembly, religion, the freedom to express thoughts without fear of intimidation or suppression with the provision and understanding that said freedom of speech, assembly, religion or thought expression is not contradictory to the well being of British Columbians as a whole and therefore does not discriminate against any individual or group of individuals as outlined in the Canadian Constitution. (section 15 subsection1)

To expect Members of the Legislature to represent the Citizens who elect them even if it means voting against the Party line of direction or thought. ie: To vote their conscience.

To institute free votes in the Legislature to decrease party intervention and discipline with the intent to properly facilitate 2(i).

To practice and promote increased democracy, both within the Party structure and the Province of British Columbia at all times.

To demand that the power of Right of Recall be instituted in the Legislative Constitution where in if a Member of the Legislature does not fulfill his/her moral obligations as per the wishes of his/her constituents, he/she can be replaced via a by-election in his/her constituency by the constituents.

To ensure all British Columbians will be assisted in an ethical and humane manner in ALL aspects of Government.

To protect the integrity of the healthcare system in British Columbia as a whole and not based on population and monetary ability as per 2(m)

To promote the higher education of the population by ensuring that all British Columbians have an opportunity to seek an education with the understanding that a more intelligent society will benefit everyone and education, including post-secondary education are rights for all British Columbians regardless of their financial standing.

To ensure the actions of industry and all levels of Government practice environmental sustainability to ensure British Columbia’s wildlife and environment are not degraded.

That ALL Government bodies are environmentally, economically and socially sustainable.

That ALL Industries are environmentally and socially sustainable
TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP:

Membership in the Party shall be divided into 4 areas: Official Members, Associate Members, Youth Members and Executive members.

Official Membership shall be open to any person entitled to vote under the British Columbia Provincial Elections Act at an Election of the Legislature of this Province, and who supports the purpose of the Party. Said member MAY NOT be either affiliated nor a card carrying member of any other Provincial party. Official members are required to pay a yearly membership fee of $5 and are eligible to vote on all Party Policy, The Party Executive, and Party Executive Nominations.

Associate Membership shall be open to any resident of British Columbia that supports the Provincial Party. No membership fee is required, and associates are entitled to attend regular party meetings. However, they are not allowed to nominate, vote or hold a position within the party. Associates can volunteer their services, if they so desire, where needed outside the aforementioned areas.

Youth Membership is open to any resident of British Columbia, aged 14-17 that supports the Party. Youth Members are eligible to vote on the Youth Executive and any issues that are deemed of importance to the Youth Membership with the understanding that the official guidelines for same shall be as outlined by the YPP executive.

Executive membership is open to any official member that is in good standing within the Party and who is elected to their position by majority support at the Annual General Meeting where at least 30% of the Official Members are present. All Executive Members (people who hold a position in the Party) are required to acquaint themselves with the Constitution and the Bylaws.

Any Official Member in good standing and having their membership dues paid in full thirty-(30) days prior to the Annual General Meeting is entitled to run for a position as an Executive Member on the Party Board of Directors, and or run for the nomination and position of Party Candidate for the British Columbia Legislature. Any Official Member in good standing that has paid their membership fees can vote at an Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting.

The YPP reserves the right to reject any new or active membership application, based on known criminal affiliation or whose actions are harmful to British Columbians as a whole, but not based on gender, religious affiliation, race creed or colour.

Any member who has paid for membership and whose membership is revoked shall be reimbursed for all fees paid as follows:

One-(1) year membership = NO refund after the first 6 months of that year.

Five-(5) and Ten-(10) year membership(s) = A full refund for any year(s) not yet reached. In the case of any year being past the 6th month the portion of the year membership is revoked the latter portion of that year and all years previous is non-refundable.
THE PROVINCIAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

The Board of Directors shall act on behalf of the YPP between Annual General Meetings. Said Board shall act in accordance with the directives approved at the Annual General Meeting.

The Board shall consist of the following officers in good standing:
1. the Party Leader
2. the President
3. the Vice President
5. the Party Secretary
6. the Financial Agent (Treasurer)
7. the seventeen (17) Regional Directors
8. the Past President
9. Caucus Chairman or Deputy Caucus Chairman

All Board Members or anyone holding a position on behalf of the Party shall disclose his or her affiliation with all political associations and shall be excluded from voting on any matter where there is or may perceived a conflict of interest.
THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS OF THE BOARD ARE AS FOLLOWS:
President: The President shall be the general executive officer of the Executive Board and shall preside at meetings. The President is responsible for maintaining contact with the Riding Committee(s) for the purpose of accessing information and services that will assist the Committee(s) and political candidates.
Vice-President: The Vice-President shall be vested with all the powers and shall perform all the duties of the President in the Presidents absence or in the event of the Presidents death or resignation. The Vice-President shall perform other duties as the president shall from time to time assign.
Party Secretary: The Secretary shall be the recording officer of the Party Board and shall keep a complete and accurate record of the Board meetings. S/He shall promptly file a duplicate copy of such record of each meeting with the Chairman. The Secretary shall also maintain a complete and accurate record of the Party membership and shall file a duplicate copy of the membership list with the Chairman. S/He shall update the membership list as new members are selected, upon notice of change of address of Party Board members, and/or upon receipt of any resignation. S/He shall provide, upon receipt of any additions, resignations, or updates, duplicate copies of such changes and updates to the Chairman.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall keep a full and accurate record and account of all receipts and expenditures, and shall deposit all money in the name of the Your Political Party of BC in a recognized bank or trust company. S/He shall make proper receipts therefore and, as Treasurer, shall render to the Chairman and the Committee a full report of all transactions and of the financial condition of the Party at such time as requested by the President.
Resignation: Any Party member or officer may resign at any time. Such resignation shall be made in writing and shall take effect upon receipt by the Chairman or the Secretary, who shall record such resignation, noting the hour and date of its receipt. The acceptance of a resignation by the vote of the Party Board of Executives shall not be necessary. A member’s removal from the list of Democratic enrolled voters shall be considered an automatic resignation from the committee. Election to fill a vacancy caused by resignation or death of an officer may be held at a meeting convened with proper notice as defined in the Party by-laws.
Removal: An officer or member of the Board may be removed at a meeting called expressly for that purpose. Written notice must be given to all members of the Board at least 7 days prior to the meeting. Removal shall require the approval of two-thirds (2/3) of the Board members present and voting.
